Privacy policy

What we need to stock your boat and nothing more: your name and phone number; your harbor, dock, slip, and boat; your orders and drop history; and the photo we take of each stowed drop.

Your card is collected and stored by Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store full card numbers. Your gate code is stored encrypted and is never displayed to anyone, our own screens included.

We use your information to run your drops: signing you in, sending your order to the store, picking it up and stowing it, charging your card, sending the proof photo and receipt, and telling you when something needs your attention. We don't use it for advertising, and we don't sell it.

When you sign up with your phone number, you agree to receive texts from slipside. We send two kinds: verification codes to sign you in, and updates about your orders and drops: confirmations, window changes, and card problems.

Message frequency varies with your account activity, typically a few texts a week during the boating season. Message and data rates may apply.

Reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELPfor help. Because slipside signs you in with a texted code, opting out means you can't receive verification codes; email usand we'll help you another way.

No phone number information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, excluding the service providers that deliver the messages themselves.

Only the service providers that make slipside work, Stripe for payments, Twilio for texts, and our hosting providers, and only what each one needs to do its job. The liquor store that fills your order receives what you ordered, your name, and the harbor and slip for the drop. We may also disclose information when the law requires it. We never sell your personal information, and we never share your phone number for anyone else's marketing.

Account information for as long as you have an account, and order and drop records for as long as bookkeeping and tax rules need them. Ask us to close your account and we delete the rest.

All traffic to slipside is encrypted in transit, gate codes are encrypted at rest, and access to customer data is limited to the people who run your drops. No system is perfect, but we treat your slip access the way we'd want ours treated.
