Effective July 10, 2026

slipside stocks boats at Chicago harbors. To do that we handle a small amount of your personal information, and this page explains exactly what we collect, why, and who ever sees it.

What we collect

We collect what we need to stock your boat and nothing more: your name and mobile phone number; your harbor, slip, and boat details; your standing order and order history; and the photos we take of each completed drop.

Your payment card is collected and stored by Stripe, our payment processor — we never see or store full card numbers. Your gate code is stored encrypted and is never displayed to anyone, including on our own screens.

How we use it

We use your information to run your drops: signing you in, shopping and stocking your order, charging your card at fulfillment, sending you the proof photo and receipt, and letting you know when something needs your attention. We don't use your information for advertising, and we don't sell it to anyone.

Text messaging (SMS)

When you sign up with your mobile number, you agree to receive text messages from slipside. We send two kinds: one-time login codes to sign you into the app, and service updates about your drops — order confirmations, schedule changes, and payment issues.

Message frequency varies with your account activity — typically a few messages per week during the boating season. Message and data rates may apply.

Reply STOP at any time to opt out of text messages, or HELP for help. Because slipside signs you in with a code sent by text, opting out means you won't be able to receive login codes; email us at support@slipsidechicago.com and we'll help you manage your account another way.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, excluding the vendors and platform providers we use to deliver the messages themselves.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the service providers who make slipside work — Stripe for payments, Twilio for text messages, and our hosting providers — and only what each one needs to do its job. We may also disclose information when the law requires it. We never sell your personal information, and we never share your mobile number for anyone else's marketing.

How long we keep it

We keep your account information for as long as you have an account, and order records for as long as we need them for bookkeeping and tax purposes. Ask us to close your account and we'll delete the rest.

Security

All traffic to slipside is encrypted in transit, gate codes are encrypted at rest, and access to customer data is limited to the people who run your drops. No system is perfect, but we treat your slip access the way we'd want ours treated.
